The Leungs

My mother comes from a big family, most of whom reside in a little enclave outside Toronto. We seem to see each other regularly because my 103-year-old grandmother acts like a magnet in a very traditional Chinese sense, attracting all us sparse polar particles from around the globe.

I discovered boxes of photographs of my mother’s family since childhood, all private connections of my grandmother whose life just thrives on enjoying her children. Going through these photographs reminded me of Alice Through the Looking Glass as I went through this journey of endless pleasure, discovering past time and life – familiar yet different from mine.
